About Nolan Marks
Nolan Marks is a student-filmmaker and rising junior at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is majoring in Marketing and is a College Park Scholar in the Media, Self, and Society program. This website represents the ePortfolio required for successful completion of the Scholars program wherein his practicum experience, his creation of the web-series POINTS OF VIEW: ON ETHICS, will be outlined.
Marks has produced and directed two short films and a feature-length film titled The Saints of Augustine. He is currently writing his fifth screenplay. In addition to his creative affairs, Marks owns his own video production business, Nolan Marks Productions. The business is currently celebrating its fifth year of operation. On campus, Marks has served as the Cinema Director, a programming position within Student Entertainment Events. This position saw him license films, curate slates of screenings, and manage UMD's historic Hoff Theater for all Spring 2019 - Spring 2020 film screenings. In Fall 2020, he will take over the role of Multimedia Director within the organization. Through the rest of his time at UMD, Marks plans to keep the spirit of POINTS OF VIEW alive by assisting the Philip Merrill College of Journalism in implementing it into curriculums where requested, and recording further testimonials if need be. He will be interning at Schindler Elevator as a sales-marketing intern in Summer 2020, and plans on earning an internship at a film distribution firm in Los Angeles for his Summer in 2021.
